Terms

Terms for educators

Terms for teachers using the Teacher Suite, coaching and educator events.

Last updated October 10, 2026

Agreement

These terms apply when you use BasicsConnect as an educator. They work together with our visitor terms, privacy policy, community guidelines and refund & cancellation policy. By creating an account or purchasing a service, you agree to them.

Your account

  • Provide accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure.
  • You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • We may block accounts that put others at risk, break these terms or our community guidelines, or are involved in fraud. Blocking signs the account out on every device. We will tell you by email and you can contact us if you think it is a mistake.
  • Repeated incorrect sign-in attempts pause sign-in for a short time to protect you. You can reset your password or sign out of all devices at any time.

Teacher Support Membership

Membership renews monthly until cancelled and includes asynchronous text or voice messages each billing month, plus any member benefits listed on the membership page (such as included Deep-Dive sessions, member pricing on coaching and included event tickets). Unused messages and benefits do not roll over. Cancel anytime; access continues to the end of the paid month. Deep-Dive sessions are available to active members only. The general membership terms above also apply.

Student confidentiality

Please do not share student names or identifying details in messages or sessions. Describe situations generally so we can help without compromising student privacy or your school’s policies.

Professional judgement

Coaching and guidance support, but do not replace, your school’s policies, your administrators’ direction, or your own professional judgement.

Prices and payments

  • Prices are in U.S. dollars and are shown on each service page and confirmed at checkout. If a price changes while you are checking out, we show you the new total before you pay. The price charged at payment is final for that order.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. You enter card details on Stripe’s secure page; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Payment is due before services begin unless we agree otherwise in writing. Some services require a 50% deposit, with the balance due before testing begins.
  • Eligible services may be paid with Step Up For Students (SUFS) funding, and schools or organizations can be invoiced.
  • Every payment creates a receipt and a PDF invoice in your portal. See payment FAQs.

Memberships and automatic renewal

  • Memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly unless stated otherwise) at the price shown when you joined, until you cancel. At checkout you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your saved payment method on each renewal date.
  • Cancel anytime from Account › Services or the mobile app. Cancellation stops the next renewal; your membership and its benefits continue until the end of the period you already paid for. We do not refund partial periods.
  • Benefits included with a membership (for example a set number of sessions, messages or event tickets each period, and member pricing) are applied automatically at checkout, reset each period, do not roll over, have no cash value and end when the membership ends.
  • If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it over several days. Your membership is marked past due and member benefits pause until payment succeeds. You can update your card from Billing at any time.
  • If we change a membership price, we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

Refunds and chargebacks

Refunds follow our refund & cancellation policy and are returned to your original payment method. If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first by choosing Billing or Payment dispute on our contact form; most issues are resolved within two business days. If you open a chargeback with your bank, we may pause paid services and memberships on your account while the dispute is reviewed, and we will provide the bank with records of your order, your acceptance of these terms and the services delivered.

Cancellations & rescheduling

You may reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours before a session. Late cancellations and no-shows may be charged in full. Details are in our refund & cancellation policy.

Educational services only

Our services are educational. Assessments and screenings are not psychological evaluations and do not diagnose dyslexia, ADHD or any medical or psychological condition. Our guidance does not replace advice from licensed medical, psychological or legal professionals.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, BasicsConnect is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in question. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

Changes

We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we will notify you in your portal or by email before they take effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
